Carter + Toby +2 more=4

Well here we go. Third time is a charm apparently. Two babies one pregnancy. :) So a little update. It'll be easy since I haven't been doing ANYTHING! ha ha!

We found out I was expecting on New Year's day. Well that's when I peed on the stick, I had a suspicion I was pregnant with how hungry I had been and the fact that I was so congested. That's ALWAYS been my first clue. So skip forward to about week 8 and I passed a HUGE clot, and had some other issues, so I called the Dr and they supposed that I was miscarrying. I went in a week later for and ultrasound. They ultrasound tech started laughing and said: "Well you're still pregnant. There are two of them". I was crying, one becasue I was SO happy that my weeks of feeling crappy, and tired weren't wasted; and two, WHAT THE H*** AM I GOING TO DO WITH 4 KIDS?!?!?!?!?!?!

So I need to back up a bit. I had been feeling worse than I ever did with either of my other pregnancies. So I was thinking "Yay, a girl!" Cody was thinking "Twins". So after my appointment I called Cody and he answered the phone not "Hello" like a normal person but "There's two isn't there?" So, that was about 2 weeks ago. Today I had my first official appointment and I saw the Dr. I LOVE her. She is super nice, and very informative. My apt with her was super quick. I liked the fact that she didn't go over all of the typical pregnancy stuff, because this is my 3rd rodeo, and I don't really want to hear it again. But she made sure to ask several times if I had any questions, and she went over what to expect with 2 babies. So around 26 weeks, my uterus will be the size of a full term uterus. She said it was likely that I would go into labor then, and I would have to go on bed rest. Not for SURE for SURE but it was really likely. So I need to plan for that. Also, now here is the FUN part. They can't distinguish between the 2 heart tones with the regular Doppler, so I get an ultrasound EVERY TIME! WA-HOO!

So I am about 10 weeks now. I'm "showing" already, meaning I can't suck it in any more which is understandable since my insides are about double what they would be with one. I'm feeling really selfish about having 2 for a couple of reasons. One is the fact that I just worked SO hard and lost 25lb.s and I will need to gain like 50. SUCK! Also Sleep is next to impossible with one after about 30 weeks, I'm going to stop sleeping in about ten weeks, and I haven't been sleeping very well as it is. (I have a lot going through my mind when I'm idle). So more reasons to be nervous: Twice the poopy diapers, 2 car seats, double stroller, 2 high chairs, twice the crying, breastfeeding 2, and I'm sure I'll figure out more when they get here.

Alright my due date is approx. the first week of September. But the Dr said that if I don't go into labor on my own by 37 weeks she'll induce me. So REALLY they'll come mid-August.

My boys have been neglected and abused for the last 6 weeks or so, and Cody has been playing bread winner and been doing all of the house work and meal making. Really honestly I'm not just bragging he has done it all so willingly and happily. He has done it ALL. I have hardly lifted a finger this whole pregnancy. He's been amazing. I hope I can make it up to him some day.

Well that's about all. Sorry it's long and kind of boring. I always try tobe witty, but then I realize I'm not a wit so it ends up being lame. Sorry! :)

  2. I have been leaving comments everywhere-sorry if you're sick of hearing from me. Not that I know what having twins will be like, but I can understand your concern. But I wanted you to know I think you'll do great. You are already such a great mom and I always knew motherhood would suit you well. If you have one or two girls I for sure have some stuff to contribute! Love ya!

  3. Oh cherry I know how you feel and I only have one in me! I have been sicker this pregnancy and Cory has too had to do it all. I feel like I can at least function 4 out of the 7 days now. My boys have been neglected and I have had total mom guilt. I will keep you in my prayers girl. I truly empathize with you. A huge Congrats to you and I know you will do awesome.

  4. You are such a great mom Cherry. If anyone can pull off twins successfully, it's you. Good luck! Congrats twice over! (When I was thinking about how to word that last comment, I was remembering the double mint gum commercials. LOL. Doublelicious. Double the fun.)
